I got a call from the president of our insurance company requesting that I take the lead manager position on the merger transition team overseeing the creation of the new U.S. distribution system for our company merger.
The team that I would be leading would be a cross-functional team including IT professionals, marketing specialists, independent agents, and other SMEs involved in our U.S. distribution system.
The other lead manager on our transition team was responsible for creating the new underwriting and customer service areas.
Our transition team worked on creating our new insurance company for the next 4 years.
The result? A new U.S. Distribution system with newly hired field marketing specialists, for whom I hired from the job descriptions my transition team wrote. These marketing specialists then used these newly written procedures (supported by automation and newly created in-house support teams) to excel in their positions.
It was the most challenging and rewarding position that I ever had the honor of working.
